Sunday was an absolute nightmare as the rain was really bad. I had stayed up on Sat night frantically trying to make hundreds of Youdoodog t-shirts with funny/cute designs on and also assemble the Youdoodog units for sale, and didn’t sleep til about 4am.
BTW: You can buy these ready made t-shirts by emailing me on customerservice@youdoodoll.co.uk - They are £2.50 each and all profits go to pride. On sunday I got up to be at the show for 9.30am with 5 gigantic boxes, plus props and other bits… With no one else able to help me on that day, I ended up trying to hold down the display to stop it from blowing over! the table tipped over and contents on top of the table flew away at least 20 times. Everything was soaked from the rain, half the stock was ruined. I was soon taken under another market holders wing as she allowed me to take shelter under her gazebo which then collapsed… on my head! …. due to a gust of wind and yeh, well… it was a nightmare.
My mum then came to visit and she was concerned that I was soaked and freezing cold that she demanded that I go home before I get ill and I am glad that I left when I did because although I am under the weather now, i could have been really unwell.I didn’t sell as much as I’d hoped…but I did get loads of interest! To get to the marquee to sign up your dogs you had to walk passed the stalls but then on the way back you can go in any direction (so of course people walked passed and said they’d be back after registering their dogs, but then they would run off as soon as they could because believe me the weather was horrible. Raining, gusts of wind blowing. No one was a happy bunny and most thought that it should have been cancelled. All the stalls packed up roughly the same time as me and everyone said that they did not really sell much.
On a good note, we sponsored prizes for the novelty classes and as soon as people found out, they were signing their dogs up for the classes to try to win one! I made a bespoke dog for each class, including coloured and designed t-shirts for each class and I even dyed them to show that they were for this section of the dogs show.
Here are some lucky peeps that won one of the novelty class prizes! tee-hee! I also handed out loads of flyers and also know that we should try and stock the Youdoodogs in pet shops, vets as well as retail shops. anyhoo, I am sure there are plenty more dog shows and events! lol! Maybe see you at the next one?! If anyone knows of any more shows that they think youdoodoll or Youdoodog should go to, please email us! xx **All photos displayed here are by maxrixhardson.com (thanks max!)

Thanks !
Hey Sarah,
I saw you on Dragon’s Den recently. Congratulations. I was on Dragon’s Den with my roadkill plush toys about 6 weeks ago. Unlike you they didn’t go for my creations. They were scandalised by them!
It would be good to get some expert advice from you, and about how you go about your marketing. Maybe there could even be a Roadkill Youdoo Pet!
Cheers
Adam
